When someone first starts out online to make some extra money, they usually tend to start promoting other people’s products to make affiliate commissions. This is a great way to start, and it is also not something which should be stopped! Let me explain.

When you have built up a nice online business, time can become tight and you will begin to receive a lot of offers to promote other people’s products. You will not be able to promote them all, but you should still try to help by promoting products which your visitors and customers will enjoy.

The hard part is deciding which products to promote and how to promote them.

The average way of thinking to promote a product is through opt-in email, and that can work great. But many internet marketing ‘gurus’ say that you should only email your list a few times a week, and some say once a day. There are so many little tips and tricks that can help you make a lot more affiliate sales, but the one I am about to share can really bring A LOT of commissions if done right.

The basic idea here is to use private label rights material, your affiliates links, and make it to viral! So here’s the quick version of how to do this.

Step #1. You need to find a good topic/market for this, as the main way to get your affiliate links out there is by using a popular topic that people want to learn more about, something which can go viral (meaning that it will spread quickly from people passing it around).

To do this there are a few ways. If you are already familiar with a market and know what they like and what ideas might “take off”, then try to use that market as it will be a bit easier to work with because you already know a few things about it.

On the other hand, if you really want your material to go viral, then go look at what the mainstream market is looking for and searching about. One neat tool you can use is the Google Trends tool, this will show you some popular search phrases that users are looking for. But make note that some of the keywords listed there are searched for A LOT but in a very short period of time, so maybe tomorrow it won’t be a good keyword at all. But if you can get in on the keyword while it’s hot… you should see a lot of traffic.

As for what types of topics/keywords to look for, you will want something that can be easily delivered in text (or maybe audio/video) format and can be something that you can deliver on, as well as being not too competitive if you will be trying to become #1 in the search engines. Also, as for making affiliate commissions, there will have to be some way to make an offer to the readers/views of your material, so keep that in mind as well.

For example, the keyword of “the bee gees” (a popular music group), at the time of writing this the band name was showing up in the Google Trends tool. But since that band has been known about for a long time now, there are already many other web sites talking about them and the competition is probably too tight for a project like this. But looking back at the keyword if it wasn’t to competitive, it could be a great money maker because you could have an affiliate link to some of their music and you could easily make an audio or video about them.

Step #2. The next step is to find some kind of private label rights material that you can use to help deliver the material to the market. This step really depends on which market you go into, as not every market has material with PLR available. Example, I don’t think you can find “the bee gees” content in PLR form… but you might be able to find other content which the same market might be interested in. However, in the Internet marketing niche and other popular niches, there is a lot of PLR material available which can help make this step a lot easier.

What you want to do is create a report, audio, or video which answers the reader’s/viewer’s question about the overall topic. In step #1 when you found a good topic, this step is about answering that topic or giving them what they were looking for.

If you can’t find the answer using PLR material, then simply do some research online for the answer.

When you have the answer you will need to put it together in a downloadable format. Simply answer the question that they had or supply whatever it is that they were looking for. But since this whole project is about making affiliate sales, you will want to include a few links throughout the report or in the audio/video to the affiliate product. The product will have to be something that the market would want to purchase, something similar to the overall topic.

For example, if the topic was about a music group then you could link to some of their music on Amazon.com.

Once you have the answer put together in a report or other downloadable format, then now you just have to make it available online. The reason I am suggesting you put it together as a downloadable product is because people generally value a downloadable product higher than if they just found the answer written on a web site.

Step #3. Now it’s time to get your product out there quickly. There are a few ways that you can do this and it depends on the market and what the topic was.

If your topic had to do something with Internet marketing, then you might be able to get a lot of downloads from popular Internet marketing forums. If you have an email list, then tell them about it and what questions or issues your product can answer for them.

If your topic had to do with something you found in Google Trends, then it will most likely be something that you need to act fast on and to get noticed quickly. With many Google Trend keywords, it can be quite easy to rank high in the search engines for it. So first you will need to place your product for download on a web site, so places like Blogger and Weebly can be great for getting quick search engine placements. Then just use the popular web 2.0 type of web sites and article directories to get your site noticed as quickly as possible.

With any luck your site will be ranked high in the search engines and you should start seeing some traffic.

Step #4. Now it’s time to make sure your product goes viral!

Note: There is no real guarantee that people will pass along your product, but if it’s a popular enough topic that might also have some interest built into it, then it should do well.

There are two ways that you can go about doing this, and both are total opposites of each other. So decide which way your market might react to better.

• Viral idea #1 is to make sure to state in the product itself that it can be passed around for free and try to give them a reason to do so. Make it easy for them to tell others about it, maybe by giving some links to use or ready-to-go email copy to use.

• Viral idea #2 is to say that this product is worth $xx amount and is “secret” information. Since they were able to download it for free they may feel like they got away with something and that it’s worth a lot of money. In some markets products like this are passed around a lot with real products which have sold for a lot of money. As you can probably see though, this method will not work in all markets and in some it may backfire and not get passed around at all.

So decide which your market would react better too, a product which is telling them to pass it around to share the tips/ideas, or a product which is worth some money and might be “secret” information.

These are 4 steps that you can use to drive more traffic to your affiliate links and hopefully in return bring you a lot more affiliate sales!

If you are familiar with creating reports or short videos, than I don’t think these steps should take you too long to do, probably just a few good hours. Find the right topic or keyword and you can be well on your way!

There is one tactic to making money online which a lot of affiliate marketers tend to over look, but it is one thing that can make you 10x or more the amount of affiliate commissions then what you are currently making.

This one “secret” tactic is being used by all of the top online marketers and by all of the other smart marketers. This doesn’t only apply to affiliate marketing, but making more sales in general.

What is it? List building!

Building up a list of targeted subscribers is almost a guarantee that you will make money when promoting affiliate products to them. With a list you no longer have to go hunt down new web site visitors to make sales, but instead you have a list of previous visitors which you can email whenever you want!

Here are a few helpful tips to get the most out of your list, so that you can make the most affiliate sales from it;

• Make sure that whatever you are promoting your list is targeted towards what they are already interested in. Do not promote unrelated stuff to them.
• Do not just send promotional emails to your list, but instead deliver quality free information and/or gifts that they can use and mix in affiliate promotions.
• Spend some time to learn what your list likes and what types of email they respond most to. Every list is different, so it’s important to learn about your specific email list.
• Learn from those that have built up a quality subscriber list so that you can get a head start and avoid many of the beginner pitfalls.

Here’s one idea that you can use right now to go make more affiliate sales this week. This ideas isn’t new, it has been used by many affiliates for years now, but I think many beginner affiliate marketers are not taking full advantage of this.

If you offer a bonus to the customers who purchase a product through your affiliate link, you will stand a much greater chance at securing those commissions rather than letting your competing affiliates get them.

But there are some important points to remember…

1. Make sure the bonus you are offering is relevant to the product being sold. For example, offering a bunch of PLR ebooks as a bonus for a product which teaches someone how to find a niche market isn’g to go over that well. However, if the product was a PLR package, then a bonus of more PLR ebooks might be a great idea!
2. Create a quality bonus. Like the last example, potential buyers will notice if you made up a quick last minute bonus offer without taking any time to think about it.
3. A bonus offer which is unique to you is the best way to go. If the bonus offer you are giving can not be found anywhere else, and it’s a valuable offer, then that is a recipe for many affiliate sales.
4. Create bonus offers which won’t break your bank. What I mean by this is that you might not want to spend the time putting together a bonus offer for every single product you promote. Decide if it will be worth your time and/or money to do so by calculating how many sales you expect to make and what your commission will be.

If you follow those 4 bonus offer tips, I am sure you will start seeing a lot more success promoting affiliate offers.

Just remember that your bonus should be unique, quality, offer value, and something which the buyers would actually like. :)

With ClickBank being such a big part of online marketer’s business, there are many tips and tricks that marketers have come up with to get the most out of using CB.

There are 3 sides to ClickBank, one being from the customer’s point of view, the second from the product owner’s view, and the third from the side of the affiliate. Since this blog is about helping you make more affiliate commissions, I will focus on the third perspective and share some tips to help you increase your affiliate sales.

6 tips to help you make more ClickBank affiliate commissions;

• Only spend time/money promoting CB products which are converting your traffic into sales. There are thousands of products listed in the CB marketplace, but not all of them convert well.

• Make sure to send targeted traffic to your CB affiliate link. If you send random general traffic to any offer, the conversions will be a lot less than if you targeted the type of traffic to the specific offer.

• Cloak or redirect your affiliate link so that other “smart” people won’t change your affiliate code to their own which will make you loose out on the affiliate commission if they buy. ClickBank has recently automatically cloaked all CB affiliate links, but it is still a good idea to hide it.

• Find CB products which are currently selling for affiliates. It’s easy to tell in the ClickBank marketplace which products are being sold by affiliates and this is important to know. You may not want to promote a product which is brand new or doesn’t have any affiliates promoting it.

• Don’t just focus on high payout products to promote. Just because a product might sell for a low amount, that doesn’t mean that you won’t make a lot of money as an affiliate selling it. If the product owner is smart, they will have a low-ticket up front product with higher backend product which you will also get a commission on. The only way to find this out is to go through the purchasing process and/or ask the product seller.

• If you are able to build up a list of potential buyers (people who are interested in the topic of a product) then you will be able to follow-up with them yourself. Promoting your affiliate link is good, but it only gets you a commission is someone buys, there is no long term benefit. Try to capture your traffic via email list before sending them to your affiliate link.

Those 6 ClickBank tips have the potential to make you a lot of commissions. If you are just starting out using ClickBank then you may not be able to put all 6 into practice just yet, but do as many as you can.

2. After signing up you will now have your own unique affiliate code/nickname, this code is important since it will be what differentiates your affiliate link from every other affiliate promoting the products. Upon sign up you choose what this code will be.
3. You can browse all of the available products to promote by visiting their “Marketplace”. You can search all of the different products by categories, how well it’s selling for other affiliates, the commission percentage, as well as a bunch of other search criteria.

This will open a new window where you can input your ClickBank nickname/affiliate code to create your own unique affiliate link (ClickBank calls your affiliate link a “HopLink”).

Those are 5 steps that you can take right now to be well on your way to earning more affiliate commissions!

Here’s a tip about one great way that you can earn hands-off affiliate commissions.

You have heard about resell products right? This is where you can purchase ebooks and other products that you can turn around and start reselling. This is fantastic in itself… but what if you also had private label rights to those products?

Private label right (PLR) products allow you to edit and totally re-do that product and then turn around and resell it. This is where the real money is made… being able to edit the ebook and put whatever content you want in it. You don’t have to write the ebook or do any of the research, all of the hard work is done for you.

How does this help you earn more affiliate commissions? This is how…

Take one of those PLR ebooks that you download from Resell Rights Fortune and whenever there is mention of a particular product or an idea where a product might be useful, add in your affiliate link to that product!
