With ClickBank being such a big part of online marketer’s business, there are many tips and tricks that marketers have come up with to get the most out of using CB.
There are 3 sides to ClickBank, one being from the customer’s point of view, the second from the product owner’s view, and the third from the side of the affiliate. Since this blog is about helping you make more affiliate commissions, I will focus on the third perspective and share some tips to help you increase your affiliate sales.
6 tips to help you make more ClickBank affiliate commissions;
- Only spend time/money promoting CB products which are converting your traffic into sales. There are thousands of products listed in the CB marketplace, but not all of them convert well.
- Make sure to send targeted traffic to your CB affiliate link. If you send random general traffic to any offer, the conversions will be a lot less than if you targeted the type of traffic to the specific offer.
- Cloak or redirect your affiliate link so that other “smart” people won’t change your affiliate code to their own which will make you loose out on the affiliate commission if they buy. ClickBank has recently automatically cloaked all CB affiliate links, but it is still a good idea to hide it.
- Find CB products which are currently selling for affiliates. It’s easy to tell in the ClickBank marketplace which products are being sold by affiliates and this is important to know. You may not want to promote a product which is brand new or doesn’t have any affiliates promoting it.
- Don’t just focus on high payout products to promote. Just because a product might sell for a low amount, that doesn’t mean that you won’t make a lot of money as an affiliate selling it. If the product owner is smart, they will have a low-ticket up front product with higher backend product which you will also get a commission on. The only way to find this out is to go through the purchasing process and/or ask the product seller.
- If you are able to build up a list of potential buyers (people who are interested in the topic of a product) then you will be able to follow-up with them yourself. Promoting your affiliate link is good, but it only gets you a commission is someone buys, there is no long term benefit. Try to capture your traffic via email list before sending them to your affiliate link.
Those 6 ClickBank tips have the potential to make you a lot of commissions. If you are just starting out using ClickBank then you may not be able to put all 6 into practice just yet, but do as many as you can.

1Good tips Joel. Click bank is a great place to make money, but it takes a bit of effort and persistence to get things set up correctly. This new program you are promoting looks like it could be a winner. One handicap has always been knowing which ones actually convert. Since it took a lot of effort to setup everything right before hand I tended to stay away form new projects. This may open the doors again for me.

5Great compilation of tips, Joel – if time permits, you could even break each down further, making a separate post about each to help affiliates even more!

6These really are some great tips Joel!
I particularly like the fifth step becuase you bring up a very good point. First of all you should definitely go through the purchase process yourself before you decide to start promoting a product that you don’t even know about, other than what the sales page says.
And second, because you can’t always judge just by the initial product that is being sold. As you put it, there could be an entire sales funnel on the back end of that product that could make you more money long term than a lot of the products with the more expensive front ends.
I also like Doug’s suggestion of taking each step and going into more detail in future posts.
Thanks,

10i am using both Clickbank and infolinks ads on my website. Clicbank generates more money than infolinks but your website should be getting lots of us traffic.
