Here’s one idea that you can use right now to go make more affiliate sales this week. This ideas isn’t new, it has been used by many affiliates for years now, but I think many beginner affiliate marketers are not taking full advantage of this.
If you offer a bonus to the customers who purchase a product through your affiliate link, you will stand a much greater chance at securing those commissions rather than letting your competing affiliates get them.
But there are some important points to remember…
- Make sure the bonus you are offering is relevant to the product being sold. For example, offering a bunch of PLR ebooks as a bonus for a product which teaches someone how to find a niche market isn’g to go over that well. However, if the product was a PLR package, then a bonus of more PLR ebooks might be a great idea!
- Create a quality bonus. Like the last example, potential buyers will notice if you made up a quick last minute bonus offer without taking any time to think about it.
- A bonus offer which is unique to you is the best way to go. If the bonus offer you are giving can not be found anywhere else, and it’s a valuable offer, then that is a recipe for many affiliate sales.
- Create bonus offers which won’t break your bank. What I mean by this is that you might not want to spend the time putting together a bonus offer for every single product you promote. Decide if it will be worth your time and/or money to do so by calculating how many sales you expect to make and what your commission will be.
If you follow those 4 bonus offer tips, I am sure you will start seeing a lot more success promoting affiliate offers.
Just remember that your bonus should be unique, quality, offer value, and something which the buyers would actually like. :)

1This sounds much easier to say than to do. But the idea behind it seems real solid. One of my biggest problems is knowing about events long enough in advance to even think about a bonus. Guess I need to spend more time watching for upcoming events.

2Great tips Joel!
A good bonus can go a long way to get people to buy through your link.
I’ll have to admit that I have purchased a couple of products JUST to get the bonuses. Just goes to show you what a good bonus package can do!
Thanks,

4Joel, thanks for this information on offering bonus. We all want more commissions and bonus will help to bring that. All marketing strategies need to include bonus in the equation somewhere.

5Great point, and an important one to make new affiliates aware of, Joel! While one should never use bonuses to get someone to buy a product you don’t believe in, if you feel the product is strong enough to be worth it’s asking price all on it’s own, use bonuses simply to get people to buy it through YOUR link specifically.
You can also build this into recurring & bonus income, by finding a related PLR product, converting it to a unique product with your own links in it, then using that as your bonus.

6Great idea and I saw it implemented on a few websites before. But how do you implement this on your website/lander? The visitor will purchase the product from another website right? Not from yours so you must find a way to give the buyer the bonus. This I can’t imagine how is done, the easiest way possible.

PLR Bonus Content

7Great post, I use bonuses to get people to buy through my links all the time and I have had people who bought the product just to get the bonuses. If you make your bonus unique and valuable you will get a whole lot more sales. People are going to buy this stuff anyway and a good portion of them do a bit of surfing first just to see what kind of bonuses they can get from different affiliates. If your bonus stands out as being valuable and unique you will get your share of those sales. Modified PLR content makes great bonuses.
raphael, I normally just put instructions on the page with the bonus that says something like, “once you have made your payment and downloaded your product, email me a copy of your receipt and I will verify your purchase and then send you the bonuses.” They email me their paypal or clickbank receipt and I go verify that I got a commission on that sale and then I email them the bonuses to the address they emailed me from.
